Over the past few months Happy Healthy Us has been keeping in touch with a hospital in India. With the "second wave" of COVID-19 cases hitting the country hard, there are plenty of opportunities to help.
While we were planning our eye surgery camp early this year, we reached out to a number of hospitals in India to see if they would work with us. One hospital, Ashirvad Multi-Speciality hospital in Varanasi, India, recently reached out to Happy Healthy Us to seek support for a patient in need.
This particular patient is a 65 year old retired weaver who was experiencing severe COVID-19 symptoms like shortness of breath and low oxygen saturation. Fortunately, this patient's daughter is an employee of the hospital; she managed to admit her father to the COVID ward. Because the daughter was an employee, the fee for the four-day medical facility stay was waived. However, help was needed with the cost of the medications (around $300).
Due to the generosity of our donors, Happy Healthy Us was able to sponsor the cost of the medications, and the patient has made a full recovery and has returned to life as normal.
Thanks to the generosity of those who have been supporting our cause regularly, we were able to make a positive impact in these difficult times. None of this would be possible without your support.
